Go back in time to the 80s

Black Sea is a free game that aims to recreate the 8-bit era in every way, from graphics and sound to gameplay. The player takes control of a submarine which must navigate an undersea world, avoiding creatures and collecting treasure.

Like Space Invaders (for ZX Spectrum/TS2068/TC2068), this is a neo-Spectrum game be played on such emulators as Speccy - Free Sinclair ZX Spectrum Emulator APK. However, rather than a remake, it is an all-new game.

A throwback to the 1980s

Anybody who played ZX Spectrum games will feel right at home with Black Sea. It truly feels as though it could have been released in the 1980s, as it captures the simple but addictive gameplay of the era. Being produced in an era with much more competition, however, it needs to be a particularly good Spectrum game to stand out.

A vast undersea world

Black Sea is a "flick screen" game, meaning that instead of scrolling, its world is divided into a long series of "rooms." Each room is unique, with its own set of obstacles and treasures, and there is plenty to explore.

Can be played on a ZX Spectrum

While it can be played on your browser, Black Sea's creators have provided you with all you need to save it onto a ZX Spectrum cassette for a truly authentic experience. The site even includes a printable manual and cassette cover to fit into your Spectrum collection..

The virtues and flaws of the era

Black Sea captures both the strengths and the weaknesses of the Spectrum era. Like many games from that period, it involves a lot of time spent sitting in holes waiting for enemies to go past, which can be annoying. The simplicity will appeal to many players, however, particularly those nostalgic for the 80s.

    • A large world to explore

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
